Silver plate reads cooler than gold and throws a stone into sharper relief, so the cubic zirconia pieces look brighter in this tone than in the other one. It also shows a fingerprint more readily. A microfibre cloth takes that off in a second; a silver dip does not belong anywhere near a plated piece, because it strips the layer you paid for.
